Returning to the Angels

Today I found out a lady I knew fairly well in our village had died a month ago in a tragic car accident.

She was a woman with a very kind heart and a lovely outlook on life – one person even described her as an angel in human form.

She lived on her own, appreciated nature, taught Tai Chi, loved the outdoors and was always smiling. She also had strong opinions and was willing to fight for what she believed in.

To hear her life was taken on her morning commute to the hospital where she worked was incredibly tragic news.

The last time we had exchanged words was over a disagreement regarding  playground plans for our community. It was slightly awkward in that we agreed to disagree. I don’t look on that time with regret as we both respected our right to have passionate views. Mine on behalf of local children, hers on behalf of preserving open green spaces.

What I do regret is that she is gone from the village and from the world. She was a very special person indeed.

This blog is for UNICEF.

Thanks for reading.
