Hearing a character in a book

Re-blog of a Brilliant post below by a person who describes about the challenges of writing books for the hearing world when you are deaf. I would be interested to read one of the books to see if you can tell any difference.  As a person who is hard of hearing but chooses not to wear hearing aids, it is easy to assume your reality is similar to that of other people’s.
