how to spend an evening and forget the day

Just returned from an evenings walk, run and swim with my best friend from school along the coast. This impulse trip was the best I’ve had in a while. After a baking hot day in the office, being by the sea led you to believe work had never happened. We ran for a while then put on our costumes and walked (albeit a little wobbly because of the stony muddy sea bed) into the Sean’s swam up to the nearest buoy. Only downside was the tide was coming in at a rate of knots and there was a slight panic as we turned back to the beach and discovered the current was rather strong and wanted to take us further downstream. But fighting the tide was a good (and natural) workout. Because the day had been so hot emerging from the sea was pleasant and not cod at all,the sea was warm and inviting and so was the evening air.

We then ran back to the harbour I our costumes and laughed at each other’so wobbly bottoms! The whole evening was finished off (after changing) with a cup of tea in the marina cafe. It was bliss. 

I couldn’t have asked for a better evening. The reSon I think it was so good because it was outside enjoying the natural world at its best on a summers evening.
